I offer tutoring for basic math, pre-algebra, first year algebra.

I personalize my approach to very quickly discover each student's strengths and weaknesses, and efficiently handle any gaps in education or misunderstandings.

Sessions all take place in my peaceful home environment, within walking distance of both Fisher Middle School and Van Meter Elementary School.  Most students are able to complete their homework while here, as well as obtain any needed instruction to complement their school work.

Drop-in tutoring on Mondays, 3:00pm - 5:00pm:  $10/session

Drop in any time during open hours to get questions answered with understandable explanations.  These sessions are suited to students who just need help with occasional problems.  There's no limit to the number of students who may attend, but I make sure to help everyone and answer all questions.

Scheduled, weekly sessions on Tuesdays - Thursdays, 3:00pm - 6:00pm$50/session

Weekly sessions are one hour in length, with one tutor and two students. In my experience this is the optimum ratio for most tutoring, as it offers lots of individual attention, plus time to be left alone to work out problems. I make every attempt to match grade levels, abilities, and personalities.

The fee is payable monthly in advance at the first scheduled session of the month. This includes unlimited access via email for help with any basic math or algebra problem.

Make up sessions missed due to illness or emergencies are always available.

Monday, Friday, evening, weekend and summer sessions are available by appointment.

There are no charges for registration, and there is no testing involved.   When a student arrives, he/she typically works on math homework, while I observe to make sure everything is well understood.  I have teacher's editions of all R.J. Fisher Middle School mathematics texts in order to check answers and make sure all work is done to 100% accuracy.  If there are concepts that need more work, I assign extra problems, and if all is going smoothly and all past assignments are caught up, I go over concepts in sections that are going to be presented in class soon.

The first step is to schedule a complimentary parent/student meeting to see how I can help.
